Dr. Charity Foster McConnell is a native Tennessean who grew up in Lexington, a small town in western Tennessee. She went to college at Vanderbilt University, graduating in 1992 with a B.S. in Molecular Biology. She met her future husband, Bill McConnell, while in college at Vanderbilt and they married in 1995. She attended medical school at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, graduating third in her class in 1996. She was an internal medicine resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for two years from 1996-1998, at which point she realized that her true “calling” was dermatology. She moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to receive her dermatology residency training at Wake Forest University School of Medicine (Bowman Gray Campus) from 1998-2001.
She joined Drs. Dana and Paul Latour in August of 2001, and became a partner in 2003. Dr. McConnell enjoys all aspects of dermatology, including medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She also enjoys being a member in several medical and professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, Tennessee Women in Medicine, Female Providers of Williamson County, Women’s Dermatology Society and the Tennessee Medical Association.
She and her husband had their first and only child in 2004: Foster McConnell. In her “free time”, Dr. McConnell’s first priority is spending time with her family. She also enjoys interior design, travel, shopping and fine dining. Dr. McConnell and her family live in Brentwood, Tennessee.
